JACK L. STRADER, MS, CRC, LPC - Chief Executive Officer
Jack Strader is the founder, owner and currently the CEO of Strader Vocational and Rehabilitation Consulting. He incorporated the company after retiring with 28 years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with the State of Illinois. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in counselor education from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. During his career in rehabilitation, he has been awarded the Jacqueline-Hanback Award from the Illinois Rehabilitation Association, the World Class Services Provider Award from the Illinois TBI Medicaid Waiver Program, the Human Services Advocate Award by the Illinois Rehabilitation Network, the Outstanding Counselor Award from the Department of Rehabilitation and the Rehabilitation Service Worker of the Year from the Southern Chapter of the Illinois Rehabilitation Association.
Fran Zedalis, MEd, CRC - president
Fran Zedalis is president of Strader Vocational and Rehabilitation Consulting and continues her case management work. She joined the company in 2000 as case manager for the Southeastern Division where she implemented and facilitated the BI Medicaid Waiver Program in two districts spanning thirteen rural counties. She has extensive experience as a case manager, has worked in the public and private sector as a vocational counselor/expert, has several years experience as a college instructor and also has a background as a legal assistant and office administrator.
Kelly Ottensmeier MS, LCPC, CRC - vice president
Kelly Ottensmeier joined our company in 2001. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1999 with a specialization in substance abuse counseling. She has been certified as a drug and alcohol counselor and as a divorce mediator. She attended the clinical training program at the National Center for PTSD in Palo Alto, California to work with adjustment issues that our returning veterans are coping with. Kelly provides counseling for couples, anger management skills, treating issues related to depression, grief, anxiety, eating disorders, PTSD and substance abuse problems. Kelly works with a cognitive-behavioral approach that empowers clients to improve their overall quality of life. Kelly sees clients in Collinsville and Highland, Illinois. Kelly also works as a case manager for the Illinois Department of Rehabilitative Services Medicaid Waiver Brain Injury Program that assists clients to obtain and maintain a more independent lifestyle following an acquired or traumatic brain injury.
Jana Range, MS, CRC, LCPC
Jana Range joined our company in 2002. She has a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. She is a certified Rehabilitation Counselor, a licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Jana works as both a case manager and a counselor for the company. She provides case coordination, referral services and facilitates a cognitive behavioral support group for individuals in the Illinois Traumatic Brain Injury Medicaid Waiver Program, and she provides individual and family counseling on a private basis. Her counseling work focuses on depression, anxiety, marriage and family issues, substance abuse and PTSD. She has received extensive training in PTSD from the Veteran Administration National Center for PTSD. Jana also provides DUI services including evaluations and treatment classes. She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Southern Illinois Rehabilitation Association and is past president of this organization. She received the Jacqueline-Hanback Award in 2004 for outstanding work in her profession.
Chad Hagene, MS, CRC, LPC
Chad Hagene began working for Strader Rehabilitation in 2005 as a TBI case manager. He graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale with a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a specialization in substance abuse counseling. Chad also has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SIUC with a minor in Sociology. Prior to his work at Strader Rehabilitation, Chad worked at a substance abuse treatment facility as an ASAM level I counselor. There he held both individual and group counseling sessions, performed clinical assessments for treatment and worked with federal probation clients. Besides his current TBI caseload duties, Chad also works with two cognitive-behavioral support groups for clients with brain injuries.
Helen Weber, MS, CRC
Helen Weber began working for Strader Vocational and Rehabilitation Consulting in 2004. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Services and a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Helen worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with the State of Illinois, prior to coming to Strader, working with a variety of disabilities. Areas of experience include the TBI population and performing vocational placement and assessment. She is currently working as a case manager in the Southeastern Illinois region. In addition to case management duties, Helen also runs TBI cognitive/behavioral groups.
Anita Marcoot, BA, QMRP
Anita Marcoot is a TBI case manager for Strader Rehabilitation. She has a Bachelors degree from Missouri Southern State University. Anita is certified by the State of Illinois Department of Developmental Disabilities as a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional. During her 28 years of experience working with people with disabilities she has served on Department of Human Services statewide task forces to develop standardized curricula for agencies serving the developmentally disabled and trained agencies on these curricula. Anita, also, has been a surveyor for CARF (Accreditation Commission for Rehabilitation Facilities) since 1997.
JOE PATTON, DIRECTOR OF EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Joe Patton joined Strader Vocational Rehabilitation and Consulting, Inc. in 2007 bringing with him several years of experience as a vocational instructor, placement specialist, case manager, program developer and supervisor. He is experienced with the individual assessment of overall vocational goals and interests and has worked with at-risk youth as well as a diverse population with special needs. He has an Associate’s Degree from Lewis and Clark Community College.
